Standing Firm at Mizpah

"Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer, saying, 'Thus far the Lord has helped us.'" Mizpah was more than a geographical location in Israel’s history; it was a place of national turning, repentance, and divine intervention. It was at Mizpah that the Israelites gathered, poured out water before the Lord, fasted, and confessed their sins. Whenever you decide to draw closer to God, the enemy often responds with opposition. Fear swept through the camp of Israel, but Samuel did not flee. Instead, he offered a sacrifice and cried out to the Lord. God answered with powerful thunder that confused the enemy and brought victory to His people. Right where they faced their greatest vulnerability, God turned it into their greatest victory. Samuel marked that moment by setting up a stone called Ebenezer—a constant reminder that God had brought them through. You may be facing your own "Mizpah" moment today—a season where spiritual commitment meets sudden resistance, or where fear threatens to derail your progress. Do not retreat. Mizpah is not the place where you fall; it is the place where God establishes your deliverance. Stand firm in faith, surrender your battles to the Lord through prayer, and trust Him to fight for you. God is preparing to give you a testimony that will cause you to look back and declare, "Thus far, the Lord has helped me."
