A Boys' Brigade (BB) Parade is a core tradition that combines military-style drill precision, Christian devotion, and youth leadership. Whether organized for an annual inspection, enrolment service, or special church anniversary, a structured parade program ensures order, sharp presentation, and spiritual impact.Standard Order of Parade & Inspection1. Formation & MusterFall In & Sizing: Company Captain and Officers line up the Boys by rank, height, and squad level.Uniform Inspection: Pre-parade check for clean uniforms, polished brass buckles/badges, brushed caps, and polished black boots.2. Arrival & Official HonorsArrival of Dignitaries: Reception of the Company Chaplain, Superintendent Minister, Inspecting Officer, or Brigade Patron.General / Royal Salute: The Company presents arms or executes a general salute as the Inspecting Officer arrives.3. Inspection & Drill ExhibitionInspecting the Ranks: The Inspecting Officer walks down the ranks accompanied by the Company Captain and Chaplain, greeting the Boys and observing uniform precision.March Past: The Company executes a formal March Past in Quick Time and Slow Time, paying eyes-right compliments to the Inspecting Officer.Drill & Display: Precision squad drills, gymnastics/pyramid displays, or signaling demonstrations.4. Band & Musical PerformanceBrass / Flute / Drum Band Display: The BB Band performs march tunes, traditional hymns, and choreography routines.5. Service & Keynote AddressParade Service: Devotional prayer led by the Chaplain, scripture readings by senior NCOs (Non-Commissioned Officers), and a brief exhortation.Inspecting Officer’s Address: Keynote speech evaluating the parade, encouraging the Boys, and highlighting the BB motto ("Sure & Stedfast").6. Awards, Enrolment & DismissalPromotions & Badges: Presentation of proficiency badges, long-service awards, and squad promotions.National & Brigade Anthems: Singing of the BB Anthem ("Will Your Anchor Hold?") and National Anthem.Dismissal: Final salute and formal parade dismissal ("Fall Out").
